Strategic Research encompasses REPOA’s in-house projects that address pressing socio-economic and policy challenges. Through independent, high-quality studies and close engagement with stakeholders, this work generates evidence that informs policies and promotes sustainable development.
Whilst ensuring to effectively deliver our mission at a period of rapid change in the domestic and international operating environments, our strategic research arm strives to achieve the broader objectives through the following set of activities – with the support of our key partners and stakeholders:
We undertake in-depth research focused on thematic aspects of the socio-economic development, including comparative sectoral, transnational and regional data analyses to ensure that policy makers have evidence needed to formulate and evaluate effective socio-economic policies.
This also includes seeking to identify opportunities for improving the quality and reach of various interventions for socio-economic transformation and poverty reduction.
We forge strategic engagements with the Government, development partners, international agencies, and non-state actors, and inform them regularly based on the analyses we conduct and our experiences working with policy makers on the ground in Tanzania.
REPOA is a regular participant at high-level development dialogues, promoting both local context and international perspectives in development planning. This includes various experts’ panels and organizing forums and conferences around our focus themes to stimulate evidence-based discourses on policy and strategies for addressing Tanzania’s development challenges.
