REPOA has embarked on collaboration with the International Food Policy Research Institute’s (IFPRI) Food Security Portal project (http://www.foodsecurityportal.org/). This EC-funded project aims to reach out to partners in developing countries in order to boost their capacity for evidence-based decision making with regards to food and nutrition related issues.
Food security for all remains a challenge in Tanzania, particularly for poor households. The Government recognizes this challenge, and has put into place a number of efforts to improve the agricultural sector – a sector that is core to the enhancement of national food and nutrition security. This has led to an increased demand for knowledge and information that will improve the agricultural sector and contribute toward higher productivity and enhanced food security and nutrition.
Tanzania is one of the countries included in the current second phase of the Food Security Portal.
