With the CSO Action Research Programme, REPOA has created an opportunity for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to undertake research with support from REPOA.
This programme aims to facilitate capacity building of CSOs to undertake research. The objectives are to: - Empower grassroots communities to engage in the analysis of their problems; and
- Increase the quality of research so it can be more useful and relevant for policy dialogue and/or further in-depth research.
Any CSO active and based in Tanzania can participate in this research programme.
The current research themes are: - Agriculture and food
- Natural resources
- Basic social services delivery
Two briefs have been produced concerning non-governmental organisations’ perceptions of their relationships with the government and donors. These briefs are aimed at CSOs, and are written in Kiswahili. They summarise the findings of a previous REPOA publication Special Paper 07.21: ‘Tanzanian Non-Governmental Organisations – Their Perceptions of Their Relationship with the Government of Tanzania and Donors, and Their Role and Impact on Poverty Reduction and Development.’ Brief 8 Mawazo ya AZISE za Tanzania Kuhusu Uhusiano Wao na Wafadhili Brief 7 Mawazo ya AZISE za Tanzania Kuhusu Uhusiano Wao na Serikali
