Research on Poverty Alleviation, REPOA, undertakes and facilitates research, conducts and coordinates training, and promotes dialogue and development of policy for pro-poor growth and poverty reduction
REPOA uses three systems for research. This area provides information on the requirements for making proposals for research grants under the Open Competitive System (OCS) to undertake analytical research, and the CSO Fact Finding Participartory Research Programme
Under the Open Competitive System, researcher(s) submit a concept note followed by a proposal for an analytical research project to REPOA and request funding from REPOA to implement the project. 175 research projects have been funded under this system since REPOA commenced operations.
Under the CSO Fact-finding Research Programme, grassroots organisations submit research proposals for fact-finding participatory research. This works through Civil Society Organisations and uses participatory research methodology. The emphasis is on involving communities in research that leads to action orientated measures.
