Collaborative Research

Strategic Research encompasses REPOA’s in-house projects that address pressing socio-economic and policy challenges. Through independent, high-quality studies and close engagement with stakeholders, this work generates evidence that informs policies and promotes sustainable development.

This category of our research activities entails research projects that are developed and implemented jointly by REPOA researchers along with other partners as part of the long-term collaborative programmes; or short-term collaborations with government institutions or other development agencies.

Fundamentally, under this arm of our research and analytical studies, our very own researchers develop and undertake these in collaboration with other researchers from other institutions globally.

For instance, out of several other research-based partners REPOA is Tanzania’s national partner to Afrobarometer – i.e., a pan-African, nonpartisan survey research network that provides reliable data on African experiences and evaluations of democracy, governance, and quality of life. Eight rounds of surveys have been conducted in up to 39 countries since 1999. Round 9 surveys are being completed in early 2023. Afrobarometer conducts face-to-face interviews in the language of the respondent’s choice. See some of previous outputs here
